Devon K. Barrow works as a Lecturer within the Strategy and Applied Management Department at Coventry Business School. He has over 8 years’ consultancy experience in business and IT, with a career beginning as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in St. Lucia soon after finishing his undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Computer Science. He then moved to New Zealand to do a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Canterbury, specialising in user modelling and the use of feedback in Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITSs) towards improving learning and user experience.
Most recently Devon had been working on forecasting projects in retail and energy, with companies such as British Gas, Sky Broadcasting and Dong Energy, as part of a PhD scholarship offered by Lancaster University. He was awarded his doctorate in 2012 in ‘Forecast model selection and combination’ with applications in supply chains providing empirical and theoretical evidence on the use of active model combination methods for time series forecasting. Additionally Devon delivers academic and practitioner training courses in forecasting and data mining, and presents at leading international forecasting and machine learning conferences. He continues to work with businesses in a variety of ways, including research projects, training and mentoring.united
