Biography
Dr Davies is a senior lecturer in automotive systems engineering. His primary research interest is in the regulation of vehicle systems and components, more specifically the establishment of the evidence base, identifying performance requirements and developing assessment methodologies.
The initial focus was on promoting innovation in vehicle structural design to improve road safety (an example being the development of a crash test for improved vehicle structural performance in car-to-car collisions), but has since extended to include the innovative vehicle technologies required for climate change mitigation.
Dr Davies has published research work relating to vehicle design, vehicle safety, pedestrian protection, electric mobility and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle efficiency.
