Project Overview

This project is linked to an activity for an NGO (http://www.ieahev.org/tasks/task-32-small-electric-vehicles/) to propose assessment methods for the improvement in the safety of small electric vehicles.

The student will work with the international group in sharing and discussing research results. The work will be in the form of online discussions with partner organisations and also exchanging documents and results via a online platform. The student will develop both engineering and communication skills – with the intention to collaborate on a conference submission targeted for end of 2017.

The reflective element will be captured within the internal assessment at Coventry University.

OIL Activities

  • Communication with industry professionals via web conferences – disseminating research activity and discussion around results
  • Sharing information and accessing information via shared document hosting platform
  • Contributing to conference paper
  • Working with other MSc students from both Coventry and hosted at partner organisations

Type of interactions: Debate, collaborative document building, peer-review, critical reflection

OIL Outcomes

The student will develop both engineering and communication skills. The student will be part of an online community of industrial professionals working as part of the IEA-HEV CP Taskforce 32 activity on small electric vehicles. The intention for the student is to collaborate on a conference submission targeted for end of 2017.
