Employee involvement and participation: A comparison of hot topics in the UK, Finland and Poland

Project summary

Coventry students in groups of 4 or 5 were paired with groups from either Finland and Poland.
Each group was given a topic for their country and they had to compare their topics across the two countries
e.g. was forced self-employment (as in Hermes, Deliveroo) also an issue in Finland?

Each group had to write a 1600 word report on their topic in the two countries.
Each student had to write a 400 word reflective piece on their experience of the OIL project.

OIL Outcome

  • Ability to research and communicate the nature of employee involvement and participation in different countries
  • Ability to appreciate the reasons for the existence of different forms of employee involvement and participation in different countries
  • Ability to compare and contextualise HRM issues in different countries.
