Project Overview

Comparative study of welfare policies pertaining to gender equality and diversity.

The Project Leaders are Craig Worrall and Kevin Coyne from Coventry University College – CUC.

OIL Outcomes

  1. To be able to identify and analyse different cultural ethos underlying varied social policies and provisions in UK and partner university country.
  2. To be able to appreciate diversity in perspective, practices, values, and strategies in early years practices
  3. To be able to develop skills in effective communication and working with others towards shared goals
  4. To be able to engage in critical reflection and thinking from an inter- cultural perspective.

OIL Activities

1. Ice breaker: students will create a vlog (video blogging) introducing themselves.
2. They would also create a set of ‘Can you tell me, I am curious about … ‘ questions for their counterparts
1. Discuss prepared questions and answers to case material
2. Reflect on a comparative approach to the material

OIL Output

A reflective report (1500 words)
