Project Overview

An examination of the incidence and police handling of child sexual abuse cases by a national police inspectorate.

OIL Outcomes

Knowledge of the Irish National Police Agency, key partner bodies in child protection, conduct of child sexual abuse investigations and areas under-performing.

Expected skills are ability to apply a template approach to monitoring any criminal justice agency and report writing.

OIL Activities

• Being provided with account of inspection by the GSI.
• Conduct a Q and A with the Chief Inspector.
• Conduct reflection exercise with students following online exchange.
