This purpose of this project is to investigate the relationship between personality and financial risk tolerance level in the context of Behavioural Finance.
This project will virtually brings together students from UK and Malaysia. The in-class and online discussion will improve knowledge and understanding of cultural differences, particularly the role of students’ own cultural influences and assumptions in the case of personality and financial risk taking attitude. Moreover, this project will facilitate the sharing of beliefs that may be determined by culture and to actively discuss and share ideas via online platform.
The dataset will be providing to the students on week 6 to analyze and prepare a short group report (mainly findings) by week 8 which will be available in the online platform for discussion purpose. This report will present by the students in the seminar sessions on week 9 and provide necessary feedback.
Type of interaction: Critical discussion and reflection of their findings based on the existing literature
Learning outcome:
1. Explore and understand the idea of “personality and financial risk tolerance” in the context of Behavioural Finance
2. Improve knowledge and understanding of cultural differences, particularly the role of students’ own cultural influences and assumptions in the case of personality and financial risk taking attitude.
3. Facilitate the sharing of beliefs that may be determined by culture and to actively discuss and share ideas online
Students (UK and Malaysia) – This project will add value to their learning experience outside the classroom. They will get the opportunity to share their ideas, opinions etc which will help to improve their knowledge and critical reflection skill.
