Dr Matthew Blackett is a Senior Lecturer in Geography and Natural Hazards.

His research interests are in using remote sensing (satellite imagery) to monitor natural hazard phenomena (mainly volcanic activity).

He is also involved in utilising geographical information systems, and other IT-tools, for environmental analysis. Other interests include managing disasters, in general, and enhancing learning through the use of technology.
